From human and labour rights to environmental pollution, resource depletion and globalisation, the role of business in improving people's quality of life through contributing to sustainability is under the spotlight from pressure groups, media, Governments, regulators, customers, investors and employees. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a process whereby a business can demonstrate it is contributing to sustainability by taking responsibility and being accountable for its social, environmental and economic impacts - both positive and negative.
Entec already has a strong track record in CSR and has recently added two new members to its CSR team: Dr Michael Anderson and Sabrina Dann. Michael is a social anthropologist and specialises in organisational culture and social processes. Sabrina is an economist and specialises in economic assessment.
Entec Director Jim Kersey explains: "Building trust and credibility in a company's values, management, processes and results is at the core of CSR. We work with our clients to help them improve their sustainability performance through adding value across social, economic and environmental areas. Along with our existing team, Michael and Sabrina will contribute their expertise and experience to our clients."
